The boys wrestling city championships are around the corner and with the season coming to a close, Murrowites have high hopes for this tournament

This weekend the Edward R. Murrow Boys Wrestling Team will be playing in the PSAL Individual City Championships at Pratt for a shot to make it into the state championships.

“This is a very strong season. We beat one of our opponents, F.D.R. High School, for the first time. They are a very strong and formidable team,” said co- head coach of the team, Mr. Dariusz Mikolajczak.

Mr. Mikolajczak had continued on about how this year’s lineup is “the strongest we’ve ever had” and that he is expecting “three different weight categories in the finals.”

Knowing who they play in the first round, Murrow’s team and coach have high expectations for this tournament and hope to make it to state championships. “

“The team has been practicing at both Murrow and other schools,” said Coach Mr. Mikolajczak. Going over videos from previous games, they are practicing and plan on fixing previous mistakes.
